Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance is different from traditional life insurance. While life insurance provides coverage for death due to any cause, AD&D specifically focuses on accidents and injuries.

Starting January 1, 2024, AD&D coverage will be included with basic life and all supplemental life insurance. The coverage amount will be equal to the employee’s basic life insurance and any supplemental life insurance elections for employees and dependents.

Life and AD&D insurance will be provided by MetLife.

Basic Life and AD&D

This benefit is 1x base salary with a minimum benefit of $75,000 and a maximum of $500,000.

Supplemental Life and AD&D

Employee and spouse/domestic partner coverage will be offered in increments of $10,000 with a maximum of $500,000 for employee coverage and $120,000 for spouse/domestic partner coverage.

Spouse/domestic partner coverage will no longer be offered at a flat rate but will be based on their age and coverage election.

The coverage amount for child life insurance will remain at $15,000, however it will now include an AD&D benefit.
